Buzzzzzzz

Haircut time again. Traumatic times this morning but, we survived another haircut. This time we buzzed it all short. As a reward for being brave mommy made a cake. He insisted we get a candle for him so we sang "Happy haircut to you...."

Writing on the Wall

So we sold our Wii the other day. We never played it and we thought that it would be money better spent. What did we buy you might ask? I thought I would blog a smidge about it so that the world can see, it's a vinyl cutter. Maybe we can even make a little bit of money this way, here's our first attempt at making something. It turned out pretty good right? We're needing some practice runs so let us know if you have a proposal and will take some pictures and you might get a free vinyl decal out of us.

It's amazing what you can buy at GoodWill

So for $9.99 at GoodWill Jason and I couldn't pass this one up. Luckily mom was off looking at the books or something. It didn't work the best but Jason helped me strip it down and realign the motor gear. One other quick mod while we were inside lets us use a rechargeable airsoft battery pack. Can you believe what Melinda allows in our house?!!

Spring Break

Benj has had the week off for Spring Break. We have had fun just being together. Tuesday we drove up to Seattle and took Jason to the aquarium and then stayed the night. The next day we had great plans of walking around Pike Street Market and downtown, but it was pouring so we headed back to raining Portland instead. Our little vacation was fun even if it only lasted for a day. Here are some pics from the aquarium.

Some things we've been doing

Lately Jason has not been taking a nap and I am ok with that because it usually means around 7:00 HE is asking to go to bed. No nap does mean that I have 3 more hours during the day to entertain/teach/pacify him. I have been trying out different "sensory" items for him to play with. We have done rice, water and bubbles, beans, ice cubes, play dough etc. Here are some pictures of him playing with bubbles.

I went to Goodwill and picked up a big old frame, spray painted it, and linned the backing with felt. Jason now has a big felt board hanging in his room. This has been a fun way for us to practice letters, numbers, shapes, and play. I made some felt pictures of his favorite songs to play with as well as some animals and car with a race track. It is also great for our FHE lessons because Jason loves to be the one to put the pictures on the board. Just thought I would share some of the things!

JB Weld

In an effort to lower that dreamy picture of mine off of the front page I will post something about JB Weld. If you've never heard of the stuff than I suggest you do some self-educating. This stuff is amazing. I just recently used it for a replacement piece for an airsoft gun. You can check it out on instructables. Anyway, this stuff is basically an epoxy / filler type stuff that gets hard like metal after it cures. You can use it to hold things together, make new parts, and fix pretty much anything. I think that JB Weld deserves a place right up there with duct tape.

Happy Birthday Benj

I love you honey, happy birthday today! I am so lucky to have you as my husband and best friend.

February and March in Review

I finally got the pictures off of my phone and my other camera. We have had a fun couple of months playing at the Children's Museum, the A.C. Gilbert Discovery House, Omsi, Pump it Up, and parks. Also, check out this great website where you can create fabulous slide show movies!

Motor Bike

Jason recently got a new trike that he refers to as his motor bike. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Murdock. As Grandpa can attest, he was really funny about it the night that we put it together and he would not let us put the decals on. As a result his new awesome bike has always looked a little bit naked. The other day Jason was a really good boy while we went shopping so he got a shiny quarter to use in the gumball machines. He got his little egg and I noticed it was tattoo but I didn’t see what it was. On the ride home he opened it and kept saying something about a motor bike. Now, maybe it’s because his dad has awesome flames on his motorcycle but when we got home he insisted on putting his new tattoo on his motor bike.
