LED tail light

Here's a little photo collage of my LED tail light build that I am doing for the motorcycle. (Last time I mentioned LEDs someone commented "quote" "unquote" nerd alert, so I hesitate to even give the world the awesomeness.) I have to thank my bro-in-law who has the engineering brain to be helping me. I have the cool part done and now I'm just trying to figure out how to drive them for dual-brightness on my motocicleta. I'll keep the world updated as I make some progress. This project will be one that people remember, mark my words.

Monkey faces, bike rides, and saying Cheeeeese!

Sorry so many. They were all so cute I could not stop myself.

Jason's Phobia

You may have noticed Jason's increasingly long hair in recent pictures of him. He is deathly afraid to cut his hair. Even mention the idea and he is visibly disturbed. Though I love his long wavy locks I realized it was time to cut his hair for a couple of reasons. A) He runs around with his friends and ends up with bright red cheeks and sweaty hair hanging down into his eyes. Nice I know. B) People stopped mentioning his hair like it was a taboo topic. The moment I bring up the fact that it is long responses shoot out of their mouths like "whoa ha ha it is really long." The best was his nursery leader. "We call him hairy!" C) After carrying around scissors in my purse and trying to snip off pieces when he falls asleep in the car, store, church etc. I realized there was just no way I could get it all and make it look good. Though I did chop off the 2 inch mullet in JoAnn's Fabric thanks to a pair of scissors laying out on display. What do you do with a handful of hair in a store with no garbage cans?Look around to make sure no one is looking and shove it into your diaper bag, that's what.

So after a week of watching little kids get their hair cut on You Tube and the newly purchased "Let's Go Fishing Game" that was promised to him as soon as he cut his hair I felt like he had at least thought about the idea. This morning we did it. It required Benj physically pinning his arms down and holding his head tight up against his chest. But, after about 20 minutes, a couple of breaks to regroup and wipe the tears, and lots and lots of screaming we did it! When it was all finished Jason looked up at me with his big blue eyes, clutching his beloved fish fish game to his chest whispered "thanks mamma, thanks dadda." I just buzzed it all one length and there is one really long piece on his neck line (I will head to JoAnn's tomorrow) I think it looks pretty darn good and the neighbors have not called CPS yet. I call it a success. I hope my next child is a girl and I can just let it grow.

Before and this picture does not do it justice!

After! His favorite face for the camera is a "monkey face" and he thinks this means you put your fingers in your ears. Silly kid. And, no this is not his first hair cut. At the rate his hair grows we will probably have to do this all again in a couple of months.

Jason's funny thoughts

Dad: How did you sleep last night? Did you have any dreams last night?
Jason: Yeah! A big, big space ship. It zoomed fast in the sky.
Dad: Wow
Jason: It hit me daddy, it hit me, it hit me!
Dad: Where did it hit you?
Jason: In my back, it hit me daddy! I fell (followed by some gurgling whooshing sounds).

Mom: Jason are you happy?
Jason: Yes momma. If Jase happy then momma happy and daddy happy. Jase happy, momma happy, daddy happy!
Mom: I love you Jason.
Jason: Wuuuuuvvvv you momma!

Christmas Time

We had a fabulous Christmas this year. We made it to Washington despite all the snow and road closures. Here are some highlights from our trip.

Making donuts with the Lloyd family and then caroling to the neighbors.
Playing in the snow with family. It was the wettest, best snow to make snowmen and forts! Isn't my sister Julie cute!

Listening to Grandpa Murdock read the Christmas story to us Christmas Eve.
Opening presents.
Playing the Christmas Tree game.

And, of course being with our wonderful families. We sure love you guys!

Crayon Roll

I wanted to make something for Jason, my niece, and nephews for Christmas this year. I came up with idea of a little pouch to hold crayons. There have been too many boxes of crayons spilled at church or in the car!

I found a couple of patterns online, but I either did not like parts of it or the pattern was just too difficult for it's own good. I came up with my own pattern that is super easy and I think they turned out pretty cute. If you would like to see the pattern click here!

LED Mania

LED's are the coolest thing in the whole world. Well . . . almost. Anyway, it seems like LED's are in everything now days but in 1992 when my motorcycle was made they weren't quite as bomb-diggity. Anyway, it's an easy fix. Check out my gauges that have been tricked out with red LED's. I should have taken a before and after because these red ones are 2000 times cooler than the boring dull yellow from before.
